A Photo a Week Challenge: Open Topic

It is Fall, here on the East Coast, in full glory but the intermittent rain keeps dampening that cheery feeling of crisp autumn air, brilliant blue sky and the blazing glory of the leaves. The gloom and the rain has been making me wish for the warm summer days (like the ones we spent on vacation in Florida a few years back) and I thought of this bright yellow, that certainly lifted my spirits.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Sun & Water

A beautiful topic for this week’s challenge at Nancy Merrill Photography There is something surely surreal about these two forces together and it seems we can never have enough:)

A sunrise, the first I had seen after quite a few years, at Ocean City, MD

This is one of my favorite photos from our trip to Florida (this one was during camping at the Everglades) about six years ago. While the sun is not on the water in this it still, for me, creates that magic.

A Photo A Week Challenge: Changing Seasons

My favorite season is here and I could not be more thrilled with this theme! While we suddenly had a summer-ish spell here in New Jersey last week,  it has started to get cooler and there is so much more color on the trees now. I took my camera out over the weekend and took some pictures that I am sharing for this week’s post by  Nancy Merrill Photography Glorious display of the reds, yellows and oranges made for a happy afternoon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

A Photo A Week Challenge- Stacked

This would be my first time participating in Nancy Merrill’s Photography “A Photo A Week’ challenge. I had once written a post before when the theme was ‘still life’ a few weeks ago and then totally forgot and the deadline went by! But anyways, here I am with the first post and I am hoping I will be able to participate more.

This is one of my favorite photos, with the contrast and the ‘balancing act’. It probably does not fit the prompt ‘stacked’ in a very conventional way but to me it looked as if the branches, with the snow on them, were arranged in that manner and so am hoping it will work:)

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!
